How to weld polyurethane round belt?

A common and stable method for connecting a polyurethane round belt is high-temperature hot-melt bonding. The two ends of the strip are heated to their melting point, then quickly butt-jointed and pressurized to bond them. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Prepare tools and materials: Prepare the round or pentagonal belt to be connected, and a three-piece connector tool kit (connector clamp, soldering iron, scissors).

2. Measure and cut: Measure the required length of the PU round belt or PU pentagonal belt to be connected, and use scissors to cut both ends of the strip flat.

Note: The end faces must be perpendicular and flat; otherwise, the welding strength will be affected.

3. Fix and align: Fix the cut PU round belt or PU pentagonal belt to the connector clamp. First, lock one side, then adjust the other side by moving it. After alignment, tighten the clamp.

4. Hot-melt welding: Use a soldering iron (preheat for 8-10 minutes beforehand). Place the preheated soldering iron at the joints at both ends for hot-melt welding.

5. Pressurization and cooling: After hot-melt welding, tighten the connector clamp and maintain pressure for approximately 2-3 minutes. 6. Inspection and Polishing: Remove the belt and inspect the welded joint. After confirming good weld quality, proceed to the final step: use tools to smooth and polish the excess material at the joint, making the interface smooth and even.

Important Notes:

• Temperature Control: The recommended welding temperature is generally around 250℃. Too low a temperature will result in weak adhesion, while too high a temperature may damage the material properties.

• Alignment: Alignment is crucial. If the joint is misaligned, the belt is prone to jumping or breaking during operation.
